I like both of the above posts by Steve. Couldn't agree more about the Like Button and I'm guilty as well. There are plenty of posts that I have just liked and not posted in and that's not how it used to be. I think we should try it.

Just got back about 4 hrs ago from probably one of the best fishing trips ever, just a great trip. Best friendship, great weather, awesome fish caught, you name it. Have tons of pics to resize & edit before I post but had to post this one because for 20 + yrs now I have tried to catch a 20" river brown trout on a fly, and today I finally did it, so had to post this pic from this morning! Will post more soon as I edit them, but this if from this morning (Sunday morn).

Am I the only one that feels CoD needs less not more? The only thing that would spark my interest is a return to its roots. A time where guns actually had sway and recoil. Does anyone even know what sway is anymore? A time when you chose between Stopping Power or UAV Jammer instead of all the ridiculous things they've done since to try and balance stealth perks. A time when killstreaks weren't ridiculously over the top and games were won with bullets. How about memorable maps? I remember District, Chinatown, Broadcast, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike, Bog, Backlot, Crash, Vacant, Downpour, Ambush, Shipment, Creek, like yesterday (fuck Overgrown, never liked it and Bloc made me want to stab myself in the eye with a spoon) but I REMEMBER them. I don't think I could name a single map from MW2 or Black Ops 2. Gah.

I want a retro shooter that includes an M60 and an AK47!

One of my fav characters in any movie was "Blaine" (Jesse the body) in Predator. Blaine was just too cool and my idol, so, it was too funny when my buddy Mark whom I'm going fishing with this coming week stopped over tonight and after seeing my new hat told me I looked like Blaine from Predator.

I took it as a compliment lol....

    Blaine...

And my new hat (with the Blaine lip) lol...

Thanks for posting, real gameplay is better than the trailer reveal, I haven't been interested at all but so far after watching more I'm heading towards pleasantly surprised, however connection is going to be a big issue.

Do you know what, fuck it. I said I wasn't going to be excited but I am. I wanted to play Titanfall because it was different and it's quite nice to see COD go down a similar route. I love the way COD feels so if it can keep that movement and finally be refreshing and different, all the better. The maps are colourful, there seems to be plenty of gun choices and customisation, good game modes have returned, they've also been engaged with eSports well before now (yes, I like COD eSports). The movement looks more balanced when watching actual game plays and not the trailers which looks like they're swinging around like monkeys.

On a negative note. Dead Silence is a fucking must. Cloak (or invisibilty) looks not so good but there's apparently a counter for everything so won't judge that one. Yet.

I was absolutely shocked when I heard this earlier. Celebrity deaths don't usually phase me much. Not that I am an uncaring person, but rather because I don't care to follow celebrities and the life they lead does not appeal much to me. There have been a few celebrities deaths that have bothered me over the years though, mainly John Ritter, John Denver, Steve Irwin (Croc Hunter) and now Robin Williams. I really liked Robin a lot. Losing him is like a part of my childhood dying because I grew up watching Mork & Mindy and Happy Days, then all his movies. The memories of watching "Mork" while sitting at the table eating a grilled cheese for lunch and drinking a red pop while doing it seem like just yesterday.

Extremely sad, but as shocking as it is, it really should not come as a complete shock. He had recently went back to treatment for alcohol abuse and depression and I know all too well how the throws of that addiction can utterly destroy your mind & spirit. I just wish someone close to him would have seen how bad it must have truly been before it came to this. That's one thing us alcoholics are good at though, hiding things and not telling anyone how bad things really are.

Odd thing is I actually just watched "RV" for about the 6th time yesterday and was thinking while I was watching it how there are just some comedians that will probably never be matched, and he was one of them. Great loss, thanks for all laughs Robin and Godspeed, you'll be truly missed

kylebees reacted to Plumbers Crack in Clash of Clans: How Often Should We Have A Clan War? New Update
OK a few thoughts on Clan Wars

First Wednesday in the month seems like a acceptable result to all so I've removed the poll. Moving on......

As a clan we have become bigger but have developed into a fairly close and friendly group which, I think, is marvellous and something we should try to hold onto

As we've grown, the clan wars we have entered have pitted us against bigger groups who seem more... "serious" about it and, whilst we have had a couple of notable wins, we tend to get beaten. No drama in this as it is only a game but the competitive side in most people wants to win

The problem as I see it is - how can we go back to being a smaller, compettive war clan but keep our friendly group as it is? Chris TG and I have been discussing this and think we have a solution. It's a bit convoluted so bear with me and keep reading

Chris' #2 account, Bondie Boy leaves the clan and starts a new one called #FG War Clan

A couple of days before a clan war we put a note up on the game chat thread and on the forum and anyone who wants to take part leaves the main clan and joins #FG War Clan, remembering that only the highest 5 or 10 can actually take part (this is the only problem I can forsee if we have say 8 people who want to compete)

After the clan war has ended and people have collected their winnings (if there are any!!), everyone except Bondie Boy leaves the war clan and rejoins the main clan again. Rinse and repeat again in a months time

This means that everyone who wants to play knows they will be available, will be using two attacks therefore maximising our chances of winning and those who don't want to war as it's not their bag, or they're on holiday, have family or work commitments, etc. can just ignore it. The main and most important upshot is the main FG clan stays together for 95% of the time

What are your thoughts? Do you want to try it?

Welcome back, hope you had a good trip.

Just wanted to say that earlier in this thread, I complained about my will power, in the past 5 weeks I'm down 10 pounds, from 12 stone 8 to 11 stone 12. That's the lightest I've been in 3 years.

This thread has a been a really good motivation for me!

Just got back from 2 weeks fishing vacation yesterday. I figured I would gain a few lbs on vacation but with all the pre trip working out, biking and hiking on the trip and all I actually lost about another 5lbs while on vacation. I'm now down to 248lbs so that's 152lbs total weight loss now. Lightest I have been in close to twenty years now. Above pic is from Saturday, last day of the trip. I'll post tons more in a new topic as I get them resized.

I disagree.  I think that K/D should be a tracked stat.  Is it the tell all of stats... nope, but it definitely provides SOME indication of skill.  TDM is obvious, but even game modes like DOM it can still be important.  If someone goes 5-30 with a bunch of caps, he can still be liability to the team by giving the other team a bunch of kill streaks.  I don't want someone on my team dying over and over by mindlessly trying to jump on a flag.  I want people who cap flag, get kills, and don't die over and over.

If we only tracked caps/defends/spm, that wouldn't tell the whole story either.  Someone might have a ton of caps, but like I said, if they're giving up kill streak after kill streak, he might be the reason the team lost.  I think we need ALL the stats to paint a more full picture.

We can tell who was kill whoring and who was playing the objective by looking at the scoreboard at the end.  Hell, sometimes it's valuable to have one person kill whoring while the other 5 guys play the OBJ.  He provides cover, distraction to the other team, etc.  If it's coordinated that way, it can be valuable.

There will always be people trying to abuse the system no matter which system you implement.  Whatever the new hot stat is, that's the one people will find a way to abuse.  I'd rather have ALL the stats so I can see for myself what someone was doing.

I bought my son a steel zombie target for his birthday last month.  Its AR-500 steel and is rated for rifle rounds, so it should last forever with a .22.  Unfortunately, he doesn't get to shoot his .22 much since we can't get to my rural property as often as I'd like.  To rectify this, I bought a pump up bb gun (Pumpmaster 760) for the dual purposes of letting him shoot in town and for me to kill rabbits in the garden.

Today I set him up with the zombie target and a cardboard box backstop and let him to go town.  I'd move the zombie around between shots and he had to navigate to his tree house, then defend it.  We did two rounds and he had a blast.  He's ready to do more but I've got to get ready for work.

I'm going to get a few more zombie targets for him for Christmas.

    Heh, kids are fun.
