I've enjoyed trying to go back to this, especially quests wise but can't deny its been overwhelming seeing the homepage (does look more like roblox now) and also been took apart in trio/dup games more than i expected. I think switching from FPS CoD to 3rd person Fortnite hasn't been as seamless as I it was a few years ago! Still willing to keep at it, only on zero build to stay away from the twitchy instant builder players. 😄

I think footballers aren't made of what they used to be. Owen did an interview with Simon Jordan, got ridiculed for his Apple in the bin part, which was quite funny watching it back. However, he said something that in his way didn't sound quite right but the underlying sentiment isn't probably far off. He said you don't need to be good anymore to be a premiership player, you just need to be able to be an athlete. I do think you need the skills and ability but I do think there's some truth in that footballers are designed from an early age to be as fit as you possibly can be and the fitness and conditioning work they do is not built from making them durable. These days, they have the thinnest socks and boots you'd find and they wonder how many people break toes, etc. But they want them to 'feel' the football like its an extension of your foot. Its the way the game has evolved that makes it this way now. Not sure it'll turn the other way as its more entertainment than pure football these days. Money will play its part too. If you earn an absolutely ridiculous amount, which they all do at that level, the back of their head will sometimes say don't push it, gotta be 100% fit otherwise kiss goodbye to a career of that money that won't last forever. Injuries have killed us yet again. Its unbelievable that somehow we've been inconsistently crap but only 2 points off teh playoffs still. Quality is not there this year in the Championship.

I don't whether to be proud or weirded out that Call of Duty was my biggest game, and of every month in 2023 too. Destiny not even in my top 5, which is kind of disappointing on a personal note, only because it shows how much the game dropped in 2023. Couldn't believe that Hogwarts, a single player game was 3rd with just over 100 hours of playtime. I absolutely loved it and for a hard year to overcome, it was great to zone out and focus on so many little objectives in the game. Rocket League was number 5 and its incredible that game keeps on having playtime. Best Playstation Plus game they've given to us. And now I can be Lightning McQueen. There is a God.

Keep checking the events section, you'll usually see nights go up for it that tell you where and when 👍

@Luseth, I usually put updates of key threads on there, so happy to do this when its ready - obviously the more ppl share FG threads too, the better. 🙂 Anyone can join the WhatsApp community by just messaging me, not a problem. I don't push it anywhere because obviously people aren't all on it and this is the home of FG that people need to keep checking in (plus its not really for gaming talk, as its just banter crap you wouldn't put on here).

Yeah @J4MES OX4D, Myelin put up this update to show everyone since they nuked all their servers. I expect everything to go into hiding and numerous name changes again if they want to get back into game development.

Sad year for devs overall. Doesn't seem to be getting any better does it 😞

You might find the polls on FG abit easier to capture everyone's thoughts like @Riff Machine says - mainly because people will be here viewing posts and threads more so than external links. Happy to see what everyone else thinks.

I'm back to this is a social experiment to see how many people are dumb enough to play it enough so they can't get a refund and see how much money they make. The videos are quite truly incredible. Dare I say, does this make Gollum NOT the worst game this year???? 💩

OMG new version in white. Finally. The switch sounds useful if you play an array of games across all platforms. Not for everyone but then again Astros aren't for everyone. Really keen to hear feedback on this to see what Logitech have done and if its worth the wait. They've been the best on the market for me for years. Still win me over the Steel Series 7P version because it doesn't take in outside sounds at all. Still costly but the previous ones were so worth the money.

Got first 4 ARs Gilded, like Gary. Much nicer to do on MW3 than MW2 given no longshot challenge. Starting to move to Striker SMG and BAS-B Battle Rifle to vary it up abit.

Well, if i'm trying to be balanced here, that was pretty obvious as they released only maps that were remakes. Its clever marketing. Makes them look amazing when they release only new content. Deflects criticism in the way they need it too. I'm still happy for the maps btw! Just not gonna sugar coat it too much as they could've given us a few at launch, they just decided against it.

So, what it summarises is that everyone should be FG? Thats what I got out of it 😄

Funnily enough its probably the best one out of that bunch...I know @Rumelylady is obsessed with it on PC! Its always been pretty middle of the road stuff. I look it as a bonus if I'm honest as every so often we seem to get an absolute gem that saves loads of us here abit of cash. Rocket League back in the day being free being one that springs to mind but also CoD MW Remastered just to allow us to play Private Games for so many years on PS4 was superb.

Chad @Riff Machine said that Sea of Stars is the on point so may pick it up around Christmas. Hoping the crossplay will help us even more now it feels way more accessible than it used to be...Gamepass can be tempting but I do think its spoiled games like Starfield.

The website that used to run the main place to get squad battles and create tournaments for fun and cash against other teams all around the world is shutting down 15th Jan 2024. The FAQs have this reason stating why its closing: Activision Blizzard is planning to sunset and no longer host the GameBattles platform. The company is committed to providing account holders the opportunity to transact any balance through pay-to-enter competitions and micro-transactions before January 15th, 2024. Thank you to the GameBattles community for your loyalty. I didn't think it was a big thing these days as much as it was back in the old CoD era, and with pop-up communities that can run tournaments on discord, or other templated websites at ease, it probably would struggle going on its own without Acti Bliz support on their platform. I remember us trying to do it for Rainbow 6 Siege when we were playing it regularly but it never ended up being anything here.
