Haven't been 3D printing much the past month or so. Just been so busy with rod orders. Finally made some time last night to fire one of the printers back up and printed a Glock mag rack for my extra magazines. Came out really well and fits perfectly. Just have to pick up a spool of gray filament to reprint the final ones in gray rather than white.

I'd say about 6 hrs total. A lot of that was just laying down the base coat of white, then base coat of the flesh tones. I did the base coats by brush which always takes longer, then the fading and detail work with airbrush which goes a lot faster.

Been so busy with my custom rod business working 10hrs in the shop per day I haven't had much time to do anything else. So finally set a side a few hours for myself this afternoon and got around to painting "Dobby" from Harry Potter that I printed last month. He's about 19" tall. Should look right at home in the theater room.

Thanks Lee.  It's amazing the stuff you can do with them. And the prices have come down so much over the past few years. I have two of them now and both are the Ender 3 V2's which sells for about $250, then I upgraded the extruder/hot end with a direct drive Microswiss one which runs $100. So no more than $350 invested into each of them.

Finally done with this one. Pretty much everything is 3d printed except the base I carved/sculpted out of foam then airbrushed and flocked it with sand and flocking. And the trunk of the tree is one of my bonsai trees that died over the winter so I just spread aquarium filter floss across the branches then flocked it the way model railroad guys do on their builds. Rest is all printed and airbrushed. Water I airbrushed the base then coated it in clear silicone, then added waves by pulling upwards on the silicone as it dried and painted the white tips. Also added flicking light inside the tower as well as a flickering micro LED chip on the end of the wizards torch. Probably over 200+ hrs into it from start to finish. Fit's right into the theater room theme really nicely. Was quite an enjoyable build, already kicking around ideas for what will be built on the 2nd of the side tables.

Figured I'd start this thread and just update it with pictures of some of my 3D printed projects as I work on them rather than start a new thread for every thing I print and do.

Just started this project a bit over a week ago. I decided I wanted to do a medieval  diorama for my theater room since the rest of the room's decor is all medieval themed. So decided to start printing a scene which will be a castle tower sitting on the edge of a rocky shoreline of the ocean with a dragon on top of the tower, then a giant kraken coming out of the water attacking the tower. Took about 130hrs to print just the tower pieces. Then did a lot of paint work and weathering to make it look aged, made some vines out of stained twine and ground up some reindeer moss to make the moss and growth on the towers crack. Added some wood railing and made a wood door. Have the dragon pieces running on both printers right now so hope to have that done and painted by the weekend so I can move onto finishing the base and making some realistic water using some clear silicone and paint mixed which other items which should be interesting.

Nice looking bike. I bike a lot during the spring/summer just for staying in shape a bit. Prob do around 25-35 miles per week, nothing crazy but enough to keep the blood flowing since I'm almost 50 yrs old now. Mine isn't anything special, just a standard dept store $200 no name, I put some Kevlar tires/tubes on it as well as a few things like upgraded seat and speedo/lights etc. One of these days I'm like to get a nicer one like a Trek or something like you have.

Cool that is good to hear. Are the maps mostly pretty good sized ones? I've never been a fan of the smaller maps on any of the COD games. Ones like Nuketown and Rust were ones that I hated to see come up when I was playing online.

Got some more done on the latest build this morning. I like to do a bit different design on each tube chassis I make so did a bit different lay out of the gusset/support bards on the side plates on this one and like how it turned out. Looks funny right now without the cab/upper cage built, but will start on those in a few days when I get time, gotta do some "real work" over the next few days

After a few months of parts collecting it's time to dive into this new project. Have pretty much everything now except the esc/motor and parts to make the 4 links, but now can start building the chassis probably tonight.

Finished the racing seat & driver for the new truck build project I'll be starting soon. I couldn't find a 3D STL file for a driver I liked, so I used a WW2 pilot file I found that had proportions I liked and then modified it a bit. I printed it at 65% infill so that it would be sturdier to work with so I could heat it up and bend it to the positions I liked then ran cold water over it to re-harden it in that position. Sanded down the helmet and added a visor to it to give it more of a race look. Painted up a drivers suit, and made a 5 point harness out of some nylon strapping. Steel tubing should be here by the weekend so I will be starting bending/welding up the chassis soon for this project.

Well I put Vanguard on my Christmas list so got it a couple days ago. Loaded it up yesterday. Holy hell does it take forever to download & install. Just seems wrong to me that you buy a game, yet to play the campaign you have to then download the campaign 🤪 I know why they did it that way, because of the files size, but still just seems wrong lol.

So far I have not played online as of yet, just been playing the campaign. Not sure how long the campaign is, but I've been playing for about 2 hrs maybe and so far I'm enjoying it. The section where you fly the plane and dive bomb the battle ships is pretty cool.

Prob finish the campaign in a few days and will start playing online and see how that is.

Had a bit of a lull in this project. Lots going on for one thing, then I spent the last month really sick with the rona, and also taking care of my 77 yr old Mom who also has it and spent 10 days in the hospital. Trying to care for her right now is a very time consuming thing. But I'm feeling better myself lately so I finally got back in the shop to do a little work on this to help relieve some of the stress I have right now with everything going on. 3D printed the motor and other related motor parts, made an air filter for the super charger scoop as well as some blower straps and some plug wires made out of PLA filament.

Been about a month since I was on the site so just figured I'd let you guys know I am alive. I ended up getting the rona right before Thanksgiving and was pretty sick for a few weeks with 103f temp for a week straight and unable to even get out of bed for a few days. Took about 3 weeks to get past it all and finally get my energy back but I'm prob about 75-85% back to normal now.
My Mom also got it (shes 77) and had to spend 10 days in the hospital. She came home a few days ago and is on oxygen for a bit and I'm having to do everything for her so I still wont be around much for a bit till I can get her back on her feet without needing my assistance.

If I don't talk to you guys much before then, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Watched the new Netflix movie last night with Ryan Reynolds & the Rock called Red Notice.
I liked it, but underwhelmed by it at the same time. It suffered from the same old trap that holly-weird tends to fall into with every movie they make these days. They try to overdo the comedy one liners, especially when Ryan Reynolds is delivering the line. Reynolds can be funny, there were many times he'd say something and I would laugh, but then (and I dunno if they let him ad-lib or what) but after getting a laugh with a line, he'll then say basically the same thing just in a whispering voice and changing the line just a tad. To me that just seems forced. Just deliver the funny line and move on, I hate when someone tries to beat a punchline to death.  And I think Dwayne Johnson must have a CGI clause in his contract where every movie has to have X amount of CGI or he wont sign on 😆

His movies always seem to be filled with tons of CGI. And it's kind of a shame because while I don't like that he has started to become so political lately (I think actors should leave out politics) he actually isn't a bad actor, especially in a more serious role. If you look back at his early stuff like Walking Tall, he did a great job in that role. But these days they just have so much CGI and comedy bits in his films I think they are missing an opportunity there with him.

So wasn't a bad movie, but I think if they would have made it more of a serious action drama and left out about 75% of the comedy stuff it probably would have came across as a much better film imo.
