  1. @Plumbers CrackCheers mate. I must admit , when I set up the secondary account which I started this thread with, I thought I might change my username. When I first came up with uberwarrior it was meant to be ironic owing to my gaming skills, or lack of!! Now uberwarrior just makes me sound like an angry taxi driver!! 🤨

Nice, I played Dark Souls on Xbox 360. Man it was tough and I got invaded by other players a fair few times...so I may have quit it in rage[emoji848][emoji38] Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

    Dark Souls

Been playing the remastered version since the lockdown and it really is such an incredible game. I didn't get round to playing it back in the day but the popularity of the series over the years has been evident so I decided to give it a shot rather just watch and read about it and it's just been a fascinating experience throughout. I really like the minimalistic narrative approach and the lack of hand-holding as you are placed into a mysterious world and have to fend for yourself knowing you have to 'ring two bells'. There are no checkpoints, waypoints of saves on the fly - the risk/reward nature of the gameplay can be punishing but equally rewarding. You kill, collect souls and use this to level up at Bonfires you light but in doing so you respawn every enemy. Sometimes you may hold a high number of souls but aim to push onwards at the risk of dying or you may want to head back to the nearest bonfire and 'bank' your souls only to see everyone come back alive. It never feels tiring or repetitive and if you die, you can still retrieve your souls as long as you don't die again in doing so. The level and world design is some of the most varied and unique I have ever seen with endless secrets and mystery. Learning each area, how many enemies there are and simply the layout of the lands is just so satisfying. The controls may seem clunky at first and the attacks are brutal but once you adapt and improve your character build things become much better and you 'git gud'! The bosses are also incredible spectacles and defeating them feels so good especially if it's a difficult fight. You can essentially move around the world and fight anything but doing at the right time, at the right level and with the best attributes is the best way and earning that is part of the incredible experience. This is definitely one of the best RPG's I have ever played and I can't wait to go through Dark Souls II and 3 next. The game also seems to have substantial replayability as well as coop and PVP.

    Doom Eternal

I was really looking forward to this game as Doom 2016 was excellent. However, I'm really not enjoying it. I have a similar opinion as @J4MES OX4D The ammo is REALLY sparse in this game and all of the enemies are bullet sponges. Leading to me constantly running out of ammo. In a fucking SHOOTER! You can enter an area and suddenly a bazillion enemies are on you and you're just totally fucked. The chainsaw, for some reason, can only kill the small enemies. In the 2016 game it was a kind of panic button if you were in the shit with a big enemy next to you. The platforming is a fucking nightmare sometimes. It's more trial and error where you jump to a platform that will fall and just hope you can see where to jump next before you fall to your death. To me this is just a massive disappointment.

  8. I wouldn't blame him to be honest as we have a shit manager, but I don't really see it happening. Maybe after another year of the Special prick but not now. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

  11. So Aaron (nutcutlit), one of his friends called Jim and I were driving around Chernarus about to find a spot to log out last night when what follows happened... Jim's footage revealed that the three of us got wiped by a single friggin dude who somehow managed to find an M4 on an official server, which is about as rare as stumbling upon a unicorn in your neighbourhood park. Car stalled going uphill. This really was us being in the wrong place at the worst of times. Enjoy my POV of this utter fuck-up! 😄

  16. Harry Kane to leave Spurs? Thoughts on that @phil bottle? Not gonna lie after all the years you boys had with shite strikers (Adebayor and Soldado) I'm kind of sad to see him leave. Specially if it means he ends up at United or god forbid Barca...

  20. With a new install, I wouldn't really bother. Let Windows update, grab new GPU drivers and see how it goes, AV program and Malwarebytes with a scan. So long as the drivers are installing and you can access things like Event Viewer, should be good to go, shows whatever corruption was there has now gone. Since a reinstall fixed it, I can't see it being hardware related, so testing RAM / HDDs health would most likely just display as healthy. I would see how it goes and see if any other faults start to develop.

  21. Pretty good Rich, thanks. Yeah it's been too long, but life & work keep getting in the way of gaming. Looks like there are still quite a few original members still knocking about on here.

  22. If you want to run any semi automatic rifle, there's a couple of options out there that aren't half bad. However, I would not pair these with another long range weapon like you're talking of doing with the FAL and a sniper @GazzaGarratt, but if it works for you, go for it. Personally I'd run FAL and Aug rather than FAL and AX-50. But a couple things to keep in mind when making those classes. - The FAL uses AR ammo. That means you can have a semi-auto sniper (provided you unlock the sniper scopes) with a max of 200 rounds on you. It also takes about 4 shots to down someone with an FAL. - Markman rifles and sniper rifles use the same ammo type. This means at all times you will never have more than however much is in your clip, and an additional 40 rounds that your character holds. This means weapons like the EBR that you can technically use as a multipurpouse weapon at all ranges depending on the scope attachment will burn through ammo VERY fast and sniper ammo is also the hardest to find. - Scopes. These all boil down to preference in the end, but I'll share my views on some of them anyways. On a sniper rifle, if you've unlocked any of the thermal scopes, use them. You'll pick up a lot of kills and know where enemy teams are thanks to it. Unless people have gotten their loadouts and are running cold-blooded, you'll see them even at 500 meters. If they are running cold blooded, you'll still see them but not as clearly. On the FAL/EBR and similar rifles, I'd suggest using a 4x magnification scope or around that as it will still do alright at range and also up close and it won't give off the "glint" the sniper scopes/thermal scope do. I'm not 100% sure if an AR with a sniper scope gives of the glint or not, but if it does, having a scope with less magnification will make you a ton harder to spot from range. - Magazine sizes matter more in close quarters than long range. If you run an SMG or M4/Grau/M13 or what ever, having a larger clip in case shit hits the fan and you have multiple targets to shoot at in a firefight will help you a lot obviously. But on a sniper, do you really need it? I've been running the bog standard mags on my AX-50 and I've been doing just fine. I'd rather take an attachment that makes my shots more accurate, or do more damage than to have 2-3 shots more per mag. - Aim down sights time. On a SMG/AR this still matters, on a sniper it really doesn't. At least not in Warzone. My AX-50 is slow as an old geriatric geezer trying to unstick his left nut from his thigh on a hot summer day to aim down sights, but it's accurate as fuck and it will deal some serious damage if I hit upper body or headshots. You're not trying to 720 no scope kids for youtube clips, you wanna put these fuckers in their graves, stability, recoil control and damage is what you want. This works for me, something else might work for you, but some of my insight should be helpful. Also, the Kar98K is more fun than it is good in Warzone 😄

    Doom Eternal

I've played a couple of hours so far and it's an amazingly beautiful game however I don't think it is very good at all. I'm hoping things will change but I fear there are too many problems built into the core design of the game. This is Doom by name but not by nature - for some reason they've made ammo very sparse which means you can't go in all guns blazing. Instead you have to conserve ammo and trickle bullets to trigger a glory kill on practically every enemy. The AI is insanely brutal and a complete mess - you can be overran from every direction in places and your health shredded with no hope of defending yourself. The melee function is so weak its pointless and the game seems to want you to use the chainsaw which is hopeless against 10+ enemies and also require fuel. I spend a lot of time evading and scavenging rather than shooting. The environments are stunning but bland, and there is now a newly added emphasis on platforming which adds nothing other than more jumps and less open areas. The story is non-existent, the hub is horrible and the user interface is one of the worst I have ever seen - it's more colourful than a rainbow and looks like it's been ripped out of a game from the mid 2000's. Key information is not presented clearly or where you can see it mid-combat. The menus are not intuitive in the slightest and a lot of the story is played out through text logs which further takes away from any action. The game also has so many upgrade systems in play that it's now bordering on being an RPG. I can't believe this game has been given so much praise from the media as it's a terrible Doom game and an awful FPS in its own right. The developers have basically tried to innovate Doom 2016 but have inadvertently just created another generic modern shooter we've seen so often in recent memory. Why the hell they couldn't have kept it as a traditional FPS is beyond me. Everything about this game feels off, flawed or just underwhelming.
