  1. Morning FG! As last year's was an all round success it's come to the point to do this year's! I've learned a lot from last year, we have some amazing people that donate generously and hope this continues but also I want to not shoot myself in the foot and go present happy when I realised I was stretching my pocket a little too thin to make this as big as possible. I'm thinking this year along the lines of game vouchers and accessories; controllers, hard drives maybe and if we're lucky to get enough donations then let's look at a couple of games too. We'll use the raffle system like last year. We'll have a thread starting next week where we'll log down all names that want whatever stuff we have and I'll try and draw on Christmas Day! Suggestions If you have any suggestions for us to go and buy and raffle out, please shout below! Donations You can use the donate button below which is the easiest way via PayPal. If you are donating a larger amount then I suggest you open up PayPal directly as via the donate button PayPal take 5%. The email address is forevergaming.co.uk@gmail.com. PM me if you're struggling! I want to keep the Feel Good factor we have here going so we can have a great end to 2018 and be positive about what fun we can have in 2019.

    Wireless issue

Thanks man, I gave that a shot but didn't have any luck. However I did end up fixing the issue. I bothered with this router for a few hours today and then I remembered that the whole reason I was using it was because of all the port forwarding configurations for games that I don't even play anymore. So I moved all the hard wire connections directly to the modem, and now using the modem for wireless instead. That fix took all of 2 minutes and now I've got between 120-70Mbps all over the house.

  7. So the method @Spacedeck linked to doesn’t work as it appears that realms are linked to player input rather than player movement. However it did lead me to other threads and comments on the subject. One of which being that some AFK fish farm designs work by / keep you logged in by having you constantly clicking an item frame. A lo and behold it works, if you place an item frame with any item in it, hold your right click on the item frame so the item is rotating then unplug your mouse. Unfortunately this only works while you keep MC as your active window so you can’t do anything else on your pc while AFK’ing but still it is handy to know. It also means that with some more mining and a little afk’ing we are up to 90 blocks towards the 164 required for the beacon

  12. Using the same map and resources means they shouldn't be charging full price, hope they're not, otherwise think that's a bit naughty. I liked what they did following FC3 by releasing Blood Dragon and for a 3rd of the price. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

  14. I'm finding there's so many tiny things to do and check out that don't really mean anything, I think its best for me to stick to the missions for a while. Until it proactively wants me to look at side parts of the game I imagine I'm gonna get lost - and I'm only at the start of Chapter 2 still.

    Hades

I am, in all honesty, a Supergiant Games fanboy. I will defend anything and everything they do. Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, and now Hades. I loved the ever-living hell out of Bastion and Transistor. I have yet to play Pyre, but you can rest easy knowing that I have listened to it's soundtrack many.. many times. The beauty of games made by Supergiant is unmatched, in my opinion. Their simplistic and yet somehow intricate gameplay is something to be admired. Their storytelling may not be the best ever, but when you are playing the game it is all that you want. The music.. god don't get me started on the music. Oh you're curious? Okay! Darren Korb, the mastermind behind all of the music used in all of Supergiant's games is just that.. a master at his craft. When playing these games, the music is entrancing. It.. makes you feel. Happy, sad, like a badass when you're mid-fight. The music isn't just a backdrop, it isn't just something you pay attention to in passing. It has embedded itself into every aspect of the game, including the story. It helps move it along, it helps tell the story if you listen to the vocals. (Some by him, and some by Ashley Barrett.) I have spent countless hours listening to the OST's of these games, and I will for many years to come. But let me actually talk about Hades and why I am more excited than before. Hades was announced this past week at The Game Awards into immediate Early Access. I do not have a PC to play this, so I am sad in that aspect. But the fact that it is in the works, and that there are plans to bring it to as many platforms as they can leaves me hopeful and anxious. Hades combines two of my favourite things when it comes to video games. Supergiant Games, and rougelike RPGs. This is Supergiant's first venture into a rouguelike and I have utter faith that they will do it well. (I'll be refraining from watching/reading anything on the early access product.) I am excite, guys. I've been listening to the Hades OST, found on Supergiant's yt, ever since they announced it and I'm filled with so much hype that I had to share it with people, even if they don't care. If anyone has any interest, Transistor/Bastion/Pyre usually go on sale for 5 bucks every so often from their price of 20 bucks. Or if you own a PC and have the 20 to spare, get yourself that Hades Early Access. My favourite in the series is Transistor, definitely. Followed closely by Bastion. I recommend looking up gameplay first, as these games are likely not for everyone. But if I can convert someone into a fanboy then I'm all for it.

  19. The last film I saw was a weird one, which I watched with a bunch of friends. It's called The Bear, released in 1988 and I found it so confusing I didn't make it the whole way through. It involves two hunters obsessed with hunting this adult grizzly and come close to killing him only to just wound the animal and miss their chance. Now, while you would think any animal would scarper, the bear decides to go after them, killing two of their horses, badly injuring a third, making it PERSONAL. The bear befriends a young cub that for some reason makes childlike noises and has nightmares about the death of its mother, albeit through the art of claymation. I don't know, I just got so confused that I had enough by that point. If someone did see this please tell me I'm not exaggerating.

  21. FC3 was an amazing game. I've got FC4 but have only played a couple of hours. It's decent but nothing to pull me back to play it more right now. Seems to me like they're releasing FC games left and right. They need to slow it down and put some real time and effort into making something a step up. Via the FG App

At the moment there's a bit of controversy over pay to win. Particularly as while it's going to be easy for people to buy a gold bar with real life money, earning one in game takes about 7 hours of play. So it's a bit of a grind that they will need to balance, as ppl are already losing their shit over it. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

  36. I love the franchise but hate this game. I think I really wanted it to be fun but it just feels like all I'm trying to do it go pick up garbage, breakdown garbage and store garbage in stash. That's literally all I've done. I always liked fallout due to the idea of wandering the wasteland to find some cool npcs to talk to. I don't like this holotape idea. It feels lazy. I really wanted this to work out. I think they would have been more successful if they announced remastered fallout 3 and new Vegas instead. Add co-op to those games instead of a copy and paste fallout 4 without the story.

  37. What I've played, I've enjoyed. No game breaking bugs, plenty to do and all in the Fallout universe. I can't speak for anyone other than myself here. And, as I've said before, previous Fallout games prepared me well. Bethesda are shit but to say this is a shit game would be an exaggeration, disingenuous even. It could be a lot better and they clearly fell way below expectations. I still like, it can't help that me old China[emoji16][emoji23] Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

    Daredevil cancelled

I don’t know how reliable it is but I’ve seen some articles quoting Twitter that none of these shows will be picked up by the Disney streaming channel. If true then it makes the decision to pull them from Netflix even worse. I know reviews for Iron Fist and Luke Cage weren’t great so I can somewhat understand Disney not wanting to continue them. Jessica Jones was a mixed bag so I’m on the fence about it. However Daredevil was brilliant, some of the best superhero tv around and I’d even put it above some of the movies.

  40. Watched Serenity. Again. Love it. Miss that type of sarcastic humour in a space film. Such a shame that they can't bring Firefly back to screens through Netflix or another TV service. They'd be a huge following for it. Interesting you say that as many people have said that he doesn't suit a film like this.
